The top-tier 2SS trim includes cooled and heated seats, blind-spot monitoring, and ambient interior lighting that can be set to one of 24 colors (one-quarter of which are variations of pink), bringing the total price to $47,480.

Designers were challenged to shape a modern Camaro body around a smaller, lighter architecture while

respecting the predecessor’s design. This allowed for a smaller, wider, more athletic Camaro shape. These tighter proportions in a sports car that shed up to 390^† pounds translates into more responsive braking, better attack in and out of corners, and a noticeably more nimble performance. Tighter proportions also let the aggressive body features like the fastback profile and rear quarter panels become more prominent, creating a road presence that’s hard to ignore.

Aerodynamically Chiseled To Perfection

The lessons of extensive wind tunnel testing hours can be found chiseled across the redesigned Camaro sports car. From the wider opening and precise draft angle of the grille, to the roof’s striking “reverse mohawk” channel, to the lift-reducing stanchion spoiler, the design of every surface and edge was scrutinized until it helped improve airflow and performance.

The springs, dampers, sway bars and every suspension component benefited from serious geometry changes to fit the new model’s shorter wheelbase. This means the tire contact patches stay consistently planted so more rubber grips the road with every turn. In fact, the 2016 SS proved faster in the corners on our engineering test track than the 2015 Camaro SS 1LE.

Available on Camaro SS, this track-proven magnetic suspension technology reads the road surface 1,000 times per second, precisely adjusting dampers for optimum handling even on rough conditions. Third-gen MR dampers improve reaction time and balance for a more natural feel, resulting in optimum performance and driver feel without sacrificing a smooth ride.
